Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Marie Schaefer Elementary School. Whether you're a prospective parent looking at O'Fallon schools or a current parent, I invite you to use our informative web site.

I cannot begin this note without first taking a moment to thank all of you who helped to ensuring the success of Marie Schaefer Schools first year. I am always amazed by the community and parent support for our schools. Your dedication to our children’s future warms my heart.

The staff at Marie Schaefer continues to dedicate themselves to developing a comprehensive program that offers a strong academic foundation for all students. Our goal is to create well-rounded, responsible citizens who are technologically literate, effective communicators, dependable and creative problem solvers. Through our collective efforts, our students will grow to become critical thinkers, informed decision makers, and respectful members of a diverse global community.

Embedded in this daily resolve are our community expectations: Be respectful, Be responsible and Make good choices. We teach, model and reinforce these positive behaviors on a regularly basis. All students have an understanding of what is expected and why these expectations are important and valued both inside and outside of school. These community expectations allow us to also have high academic expectations for all students, regardless of background or ability. Our teachers have a belief that all students can learn at a high level and their hard work and commitment allows us to achieve positive results on a regular basis.

Our program is based on the belief that home and school working together can produce excellent results. We appreciate the fact that you have entrusted your children to our care and we look forward to serving you. In fact, research has shown that the higher the level of parental involvement, the higher the achievement level of the child.

Please know that I consider your children to be our children when they walk through the door of our school. They are cared for and treated with the same respect that we give to our own children. My door is always open and I welcome the opportunity to get to know you better.

Together we can make awesome memories for our children.

Educationally Yours,

Tracy Newton, Principal
